December 2006

On going discussions with an unnamed customer recently concluded in the confirmed sale of a complete, new, fully automated, modern mill, through the parent company Schumag AG.

David Liddle, Sales & Marketing Manager commented “Winning this contract was especially satisfying as this customer has opted to include several of our new TM Spinner Blocks within the facility. Latest technology and improved productivity are believed to be amongst numerous factors in the decision making process.”

Tony Corder, Technical Director stated, “This is a major achievement and milestone in the organisations’ history. We have developed the  TM Spinner Block specifically with all aspects of the current customer criteria at the forefront of our minds.”

People
The company are pleased to announce the promotion of Graeme Bainbridge to the position of Engineering Manager.

Graeme joined the company in June 2001 as an Electrical Design Engineer. Utilising his engineering and electrical knowledge Graeme has gained valuable experience during his time with the company, and making him ideally suited to this challenging role.

Licensing Agreement
MRB Schumag Ltd are pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive licensing agreement with Gallium Industries of India to specifically market and sell its range of Horizontal Blocks and Vertical Bull Blocks for copper and copper alloy tube drawing.

Paul Storey, MRB Schumag’s Managing Director, commented, “By developing our relationship with Gallium through the licensing agreement it continues to allow a particular market segment to have access to quality, proven technology at a competitive price.”

Gallium are undertaking an extensive engineering modernisation of the equipment in question to ensure today’s market needs can be met.

Gallium will manufacture within their Faridabad facility, which has grown substantially over recent years, as their business has expanded on a global basis. Further expansion is planned, Aniq Husain, Managing Director of Gallium Industries, stated, “We are very serious about our continued plans, and view the relationship with MRB Schumag Ltd as an integral part of our future. We have confidence in our ability to maintain MRB’s traditional values and provide this range of horizontal and drop off blocks to existing and new customers throughout the world.”

The relationship allows MRB Schumag Ltd to focus on its core activities of Spinner Blocks, Materials Handing, Machinery Upgrades and After Sales, with particular emphasis on its latest Spinner Block the ™, incorporating numerous leading edge features.

ISO 9001:2000
After a successful external triennial review audit by NQA on the 4th April 2006, our ISO 9001:2000, Quality Management System, accreditation will be maintained for another year. Hanne Waggott, Customer Relations, stated, “This once again confirms our commitment to being a world class organisation, and I am very proud of our achievement.”

Machine Upgrades
MRB Schumag Ltd has been producing Spinner Blocks for over 40 years. The latest machine is designed to meet the ever-increasing demands of the difficult market place in which we all operate.

However, for older generation machines, we can replace existing mechanical components and the electrical system, to allow gains to be made without the need to invest in new machinery.

MRB Schumag wishes to announce the early retirement, of their Engineering Manager, Mr Alan Dixon after more than 40 years employment with the Company, with effect from 30 th June 2004.

After careful consideration and discussions, a mutual decision has been made for Alan to make the transition into retirement; however, Alan will continue to be available for advice and information for the foreseeable future.

MRB Schumag launch their revolutionary SB4F Tube Spinner Block. The company is confident the machine defines new standards for high volume Spinner Block Tube Drawing, by offering a "state-of-the-art cost effective solution", designed to appeal to the buyer, user and maintenance personnel.

"The company is delighted to announce that following negotiations with Yuill Homes, contracts have now been signed for the sale of the existing land and buildings at Prospect House in Fir Tree. A relocation plan is in place that will see MRB Schumag occupy a brand new purpose built facility, at a prime location on the South Church Enterprise Park at South Church, Bishop Auckland maintaining the long and happy tradition of being located in County Durham.

The site is currently Greenfield, however occupation will be middle of 2004."
